The Grasshopper, a native cocktail from New Orleans, originating at Tujague’s Bar in the 1950’s. It's made a comback over the past year, as has other after-dinner drinks such as the Espresso Martini.
We gave it a fancy twist, mixing the booze first and layering with some hand-whipped cream. A delicious and festive holiday cocktail!
1.25 oz white creme de cacao
1.25 oz green creme de menthe
1.25 oz heavy cream, slightly whipped
Topped with chocolate shavings
Spritz of Branca Menta
Prep: Lightly whip the heavy cream until slightly thickened. Set aside.
In a mixing glass, combine the white creme de cacao and green creme de menthe. Top with ice and stir well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Top with shaved chocolate and spritz with Branca Menta and garnish with mint sprig.
